Abstract

Curcuma caesia Roxb. (Black Turmeric), a medicinal plant native to Northeast India, was investigated for its phytochemical composition and therapeutic potential. This study, conducted in August 2022 across four regions of Northeast India (Nongpoh, Meghalaya; Khetri and Karbianglong, Assam; and Moirang, Manipur), aimed to assess the phytochemical profile and examine the influence of soil characteristics on bioactive compound synthesis.
