Abstract

Background: Liver cirrhosis is a chronic disease which is associated with liver cell dysfunction, fibrosis, and nodular regenerative activity and burdened with complication such as portal hypertension. Currently in Pakistan, chronic viral hepatitis is the most prevalent cause. A rather frequent and severe complication in cirrhotic subjects is SBP which manifests with symptoms such as peritonitis, pain in the abdomen and fever. Objectives: It is a quasii-experimental posttest only control group design study aimed to find out the resolution rate of infection in Cirrhotic patients with SBP after receiving intravenous Ceftriaxone in Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad. Study design: A Cross sectional study
