The potential of Schiff bases and their metal complexes as drugs has been explored in a number of research papers. Several researches have demonstrated the biological diversity of Schiff basesand their metal complexes which include their antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor, anticancer,antitubercular, antioxidant, anticonvulsant, antiviral, cytotoxicity, antidiabetic, antileukaemia, analgesic and anti inflammatory properties. The capacity of Schiff bases to bind metal ions has also facilitated their development as possible medicinal agents. Furthermore, Schiff bases are easily synthesized from simple starting materials, making them a potential building block for drug development. Overall, in-depth research on Schiff bases and their metal complexes has revealed encouraging possibilities for their use in creating new therapies with a variety of biological functions.
