Abstract

Stunting is a serious public health problem in Indonesia, with a national prevalence of 30.8 percent in 2018. Stunting is caused by several things, one of which is water and sanitation problems. This review article explores the frequency of toddlers in Indonesia who experience stunting, as well as the impact of water and sanitation difficulties. Systematic reviews are used in the research process, and many electronic databases are used for literature searches. Included publications must use observational study techniques, explain how water and sanitation affect children under five in Indonesia who experience stunting because they often experience stunting, and be published between 2015 and 2020. Based on an analysis of 21 articles, the incidence of children under five in Indonesia is stunting is correlated with factors related to water (inadequate water, cleanliness (toilet use, waste disposal behavior, and children's waste disposal outside the toilet), and groundwater and According to the findings of this study, toddlers who experience stunting are caused by by problems related to water and sanitation. To stop stunting in Indonesia, further efforts need to be made through improving sanitation such as clean water, waste management, waste management and latrines. There is a need to increase health promotion, education health and cross-sectoral collaboration in improving sanitation and sensitive nutrition areas maintenance.
