Abstract

Prostate cancer (PCa) is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide, with several lifestyle factors potentially influencing its incidence. This case-control study aims to assess the impact of lifestyle factors on the incidence of prostate cancer, focusing on diet, physical activity, smoking, and alcohol consumption. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between these lifestyle factors and the risk of prostate cancer using a robust analytical approach. The findings suggest that poor dietary habits, a sedentary lifestyle, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption are significantly associated with an increased risk of prostate cancer. Statistical analysis revealed that individuals with higher consumption of processed meats and low fruit intake had a notably higher risk of developing prostate cancer (p < 0.01). Furthermore, sedentary behavior was positively correlated with PCa incidence, with a significant p-value of 0.03. These results underscore the importance of lifestyle modifications in reducing the risk of prostate cancer. This study provides new insights into modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer, emphasizing the need for public health interventions targeting lifestyle behaviors. Further longitudinal studies are required to validate these findings and explore potential mechanisms underlying the observed associations.
