Abstract

Fish production in Chhattisgarh plays a vital role in addressing food security, poverty reduction, and economic development. The state’s diverse water resources provide significant opportunities for aquaculture, contributing to nutritional needs, employment, and economic growth. Fish serves as an important source of high-quality protein and nutrients, particularly for rural communities. Moreover, aqua culture offers a path way to livelihood generation, entrepreneurship, and small business development. Sustainable fish farming practices, supported by government policies, are essential to preserving aquatic ecosystems, ensuring long-term profitability, and . fostering community resilience. The sector’s growth is crucial for enhancing the local economy while preserving cultural traditions tied to fishing. Further this study explores how sustainable fish production in Chhattisgarh enhances food security, livelihoods, and development by increasing production, expanding water resource use, and boosting government support though secondary source of data.
