The aim of this article is to analyze and examine the semantic method and elucidate its role in comparative interpretation. The research method is analytical-descriptive, in which both the semantic method and comparative interpretation are analyzed and reviewed, with an effort to clarify the role of the semantic method in comparative approximate interpretation. According to the findings of this research, the semantic method (semantics) is a method that deals with the semantics and explanation of words. However, its goal is not merely the study of individual words; rather, it aims to identify the components and semantic layers present in the related words within a specific text. In semantics, various linguistic and non-linguistic methods indicating meaning are utilized to form a semantic spectrum, within which the semantic relationships between different concepts are uncovered. The semantic method can be employed in the semantics of the Qur'an, but only as a method and tool. In other words, the semantic method serves as a necessary condition for interpreting and analyzing the meanings of Qur'anic concepts but is not a sufficient condition for reaching all meanings in the Qur'an. The deeper levels and multiple layers of Qur'anic meanings cannot be fully accessed by the semantic method alone; this method can only interpret a layer or surface level of Qur'anic concepts that are related to the words themselves.
