This study was conducted in Uttar Pradesh during 2023-2024 to investigate the constraints faced by extension personnel in using e-Extension tools and their suggestions. Uttar Pradesh was selected purposively for its distinction of hosting the highest number of Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in India. Data was collected through a Google Form questionnaire distributed to extension personnel under Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology (ANDUAT), resulting in a sample size of 137 respondents from a total of 158 personnel. The study categorized constraints into six areas: material, physiological, social, economic, technological, and other problems. Findings revealed significant material constraints, including inadequate computer facilities (50%) and insufficient power supply (85.4%). Physiological issues such as eye pain (52.56%) and backache (61.31%) were also prevalent. Economic barriers like the high cost of data packs (68.61%) and low income (75.19%) were significant, along with technological challenges related to age (71.53%) and insufficient information for tool usage (51.82%). Infrastructural issues at local centers and the need for more specialized training were also highlighted as critical barriers. Key recommendations from the study include maintaining adequate e-Extension tools in KVKs (91.97%), improving internet connectivity (88.32%), recruiting technically competent personnel (84.67%), and ensuring timely release of sufficient funds (83.21%). Continuous network services in rural areas, uninterrupted electricity, popularizing ICT tools among farmers, and allocating funds specifically for e-Extension infrastructure were also suggested.
