Abstract

Deep underwater exploration is greatly aided by underwater photography. The image quality deteriorates due to a variety of environmental conditions, such as light scattering and absorption. Even with numerous efforts made in the field of picture restoration and enhancement, improving distorted and degraded images remains a difficult task. When employed at deep depths underwater, image capturing systems are unable to provide high-resolution photographs, and the necessary equipment is costly. Rebuilding and improving image quality is achievable with image processing techniques, without the need for dependable and expensive image acquisition software. By applying deep learning models for fine-tuning, sharpening, and grain removal, the goal is to produce better underwater photographs.
