Biomedical waste, comprising hazardous materials from healthcare facilities, poses significant risks if not managed properly. Traditional waste management practices often fall short in efficiently handling and disposing of these materials, leading to environmental contamination and health hazards. AI offers innovative approaches to address these challenges through advanced data analytics, predictive modeling, automation, and real-time monitoring. This paper explores AI importance in environment protection as well as the potential of AI techniques like image recognition and machine learning in automating waste segregation, optimizing collection routes, and predicting waste volumes. AI-powered systems can ensure accurate classification of infectious and hazardous materials, minimizing human error and exposure risks. Real-time monitoring with sensor-equipped bins can optimize collection schedules and reduce transportation costs. Predictive analytics can forecast waste generation, enabling efficient resource allocation and minimizing unnecessary treatment processes.
