Abstract

Juglans neotropic is a forest species native to the Andes, of great socioeconomic importance for its fine wood and high commercial value, its fruits are used in confectionery, its leaves in medicine, it is a source of juglone (ichthyotoxic and fungistatic molecule) and dyes or dyes. At the moment it is an endangered species due to the overexploitation of its wood, which has a negative impact on its natural regeneration and genetic erosion.
