Background: Cerebral palsy is a neuromotor condition,which affects posture, muscle tone and movement development. The worldwide incidence of CP is 1.6 cases per 1000 live birth. CP is widely divided into numerous forms, with spastic CP ccounting for roughly 70–80% of cases and being the most prevalent. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a special technique of stretching that are frequently used in clinical settings to increase both active and passive range of motion in an effort to enhance motor function and support rehabilitation. Objective: The purpose of this study was to find out the effectiveness of ankle proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation in improvement of balance and gait in spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Methodology: Study design - Experimental study design , study type- A Randomized control trial, subjects were selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria with simple random sampling technique. Subject with spastic diplegic cerebral palsy were taken. Pediatric balance scale, gait parameters (cadence, step length, stride length) were used to assess pre and post effect on ankle proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation in improvement of balance and gait in spastic diplegic cerebral palsy. Result: Student t test analysis was used to examine the outcome. The analysis that met statistical significance was (p<0.0001). Which was done by use of SPSS Software. Conclusion: The study concluded that improvement in paediatric balance scale, gait parameters (cadence, step length, stride length) scales values has shown improvement in group in which conventional treatment along with ankle PNF has shown more improvement as compared to treatment given in other group which is only conventional treatment.
