Abstract
Introduction: CYP2C19 is the principal enzyme involved in the hepatic metabolism of many therapeutically significant drugs. CYP2C19*2 and CYP2C19*17 are the most common alleles in the South Indian population. Aim & objective: The purpose of the study is to determine the frequency of the *2 and *17 alleles in cardiovascular disease patients among the South Indian population.
