Abstract

Alpinia officinarum (L.) Wild. is perennial cultivated herb in the family Rubiaceae, it dry root contains antioxidant, analgesic, antiulcer, antidiarrhea, antidiabetic, anti-emetic, anti-inflammatory, and anticoagulation effects. In ancient time it has been utilized conventional method both ayurvedic and Chinese medicine. The ethanolic root extract gives significant in vitro radical scavenging activity of DPPH (77% in 100 g/mL) and ABTS (62% in 100 g/mL) assays against the ascorbic acid positive control
