Isolation and Molecular Detection of Canine Distemper Virus from Infected Dogs

Abstract

Canine distemper is a virus that affects dogs worldwide, is highly contagious, and has a high mortality rate. However, no research that focused on virus isolation in Iraq was conducted. The goal of this study was to isolate and genetically identify canine distemper virus in dogs. In this study, 50 samples (fecal, ocular and nasal swabs) were collected from dogs at different ages.
