Patients who have been rendered edentulous lose the orientation of the occlusal plane, which needs to be relocated for complete dentures to be aesthetically pleasing and perform satisfactorily. This plane is crucial for the aesthetics and functionality of complete dentures. Relocating the occlusal plane accurately is essential for ensuring that dentures not only look natural but also perform effectively in terms of mastication, speech, and overall oral health. The accuracy of numerous landmarks for orienting the occlusal plane in an edentulous patient as examined by several writers is discussed in the following article.
